Philadelphia Trip
Last Friday Sophie made her first trip across the country for Gump's surprise 65th birthday party. Sophie was a wonderful traveler and slept through both flights all the way to Philly.
On Saturday we got all dressed up for the party, and Sophie got to meet many of her relatives for the first time. She and baby cousin Tanner slept through most of the party, while big cousin Chase played, ate ice cream, and checked on the babies to make sure they were comfy in their seats.
On Sunday we drove to New Jersey to visit Aunt Michelle, Uncle Brian, Chase and Tanner. Andy got to see what it would be like to have three children. We think he looks like a pro! While the adults spent time catching up on family news, Chase took the opportunity to introduce Sophie to the dogs, and show her his trucks.
On Monday Sophie, Mara, Andy and Grammy went into Center City Philly to visit the Constitution Center, which we all enjoyed (except Sophie because she slept through most of it!) We also wanted to see the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall, but we ran out of time so we'll just have to do it next time! After several busy days in a row, Sophie was just pooped, and she passed out on Grammy's couch while her mom and dad began to get ready for our trip back to Tucson. We all had a wonderful visit with our family, and we can't wait for our next road trip: Labor Day in Prescott, Arizona, by RV!!
