Catching Up!

Things have been busy around here! It's that time of year where we're always in search of water or air conditioning. The girls are very good at entertaining themselves at home, which is great because I don't always like to get in the car and go places! The other day I had moved all the chairs out of the kitchen so I could mop the floors. The girls decided the chairs were a train and spent a lot of time pretending while I got lots of cleaning done! I included a shot of a new favorite hair do for Zoe. This style does an awesome job of keeping her hair out of her face and off her neck during the summer heat.

Another favorite activity lately is playing "chef." The girls got their own chef's hats, aprons and real cooking utensils for their birthdays. Sophie especially loves to be "Chef Sophie" and prepare all sorts of interesting foods for me and all her dolls. She even got to bake a cake for daddy!

Backyard Wildlife

Our baby bunnies are growing bigger and now hang out with the big bunnies. But the other day, the girls discovered a new baby bunny hiding next to the grill. It was so tiny and adorable. We cut up come carrots and celery for it, but mommy got too close and scared it away. Hopefully it will come back to visit soon!

Yesterday while Andy was collecting all things that might blow away during a massive sand storm that we had, he discovered a big rattle snake in the yard. We estimate it was about a yard long. Yuck!

I don't have any pictures, but we also have been getting quite a few Colorado River toads. These toads are poisonous so we're pretty careful about removing them quickly. They love to get in the girls' pool!
