Welcome Chloe Michelle!

Chloe Michelle was born at home on Sunday, February 28th at 9:04 am. She was 7 lbs. 1 oz and 20 inches long. More pictures to come!!

Happy Anniversary!

Andy and I got to have one last date before baby's arrival. It was a special one too - our 4th anniversary. We went to Firebird's for dinner and then saw the movie Valentine's Day. The best part was marvelling at all we have accomplished and created in the last 4 years! Happy Anniversary Andy - you're the best husband a woman could have!

Zoe's New Room

Zoe got to move into her new room a couple of weeks ago. She got to choose the paint (pink and purple) and also helped organize her new closet. She was pretty excited to have her own attached bathroom, and she seems to have adjusted well to the move. She does occasionally wander into her old room accidentally, but I have to admit that I've done it too!

Baking with Grammy

Sophie and Grammy made lemon bread today while I made another pitcher of homemade lemonade. Yum!

Windy Day

Todays forecast warned of rain most of the afternoon, so we headed out early to get the girls some fresh air. It was quite blustery, which caused our kite to get tangled after just a few minutes of play. The girls did some spinning on the swings and rode their bikes for a bit before the clouds got dark enough for us to head home. About a minute before we pulled into the garage, the skies opened and the rain's been falling off and on all day!

Haircuts

I managed to squeeze in one last haircut for the girls and me before life gets too crazy for haircuts. Here's a picture of them the next day. It's hard to believe that Beth (our hairdresser) cut a good inch or more off each of them! Sophie is still working on growing out her bangs. Her hair is so fine and slippery that we've been experimenting with various ways to keep the bangs out of her eyes. Our latest trick is criss-crossed bobby pins!

It's fun to watch Sophie's development through her artwork. Here is a picture she drew of Mommy. Notice that she now puts 5 fingers at the ends of the arms, and she even drew rings - on the right fingers! She did all of this by herself without any prompting. She can now spell "mommy", along with a handful of other words too.

When Life Gives You Lemons...

My friend Melissa has a lemon tree that produces more lemons than any one person could use in a season, so she brought some to us last night. Today we made lemonade with some of the lemons. I've never made lemonade from scratch, but I figured it couldn't be too hard. The girls had fun squeezing the lemons and cheering each other on saying, "Use those muscles!!" Then I showed them how to make a simple syrup, and with some tasting and additional water we had delicious, fresh lemonade!
